Todays Highlight; Aurora Province - Paradise Philippines
Aurora, formerly a sub-province of Quezon, became the 73rd province of the Philippines on November 21, 1978 by virtue of Batas Pambansa Blg.7. In commemoration of the birth anniversary of the late President Manuel L. Quezon, the new province was inaugurated on August 19, 1979.
The northernmost tip of the province meets the Isabela boundary while its southernmost portion ends near Dingalan Bay. On the northwest is Quirino, on the southwest Bulacan, on the southeast Quezon, and on the west is Nueva Ecija. Aurora province lies in the typhoon belt of the Philippines. Exposed to the Philippine sea on the east, Aurora is frequently visited by typhoons.
The provincial terrain is rugged and the coastline rocky and almost inaccessible. In some places, timberlands rise sharply from bare cliffs. In spite of the mountainous terrain, however, Aurora is self-sufficient in rice and rich in forest resources such as lumber, rattan and almaciga. It’s major export products are logs and copra (coconuts).
With a total land area of 3,240 sq/km, 8 municipalities compose this province of Paradise Philippines. Baler, the provincial capital and birthplace of President Quezon, is approximately 107 kilometers from Cabanatuan City in Nueva Ecija, 6 hours ride from Manila.
Language generally spoken by the people of Aurora province is Tagalog. Aurora’s population as of 2000 Census is 173,797. Main industries are agriculture, rice, copra, fishery and lumber because of it’s rich-soil, vast forest and seas. The Province of Aurora is also well known for furniture production or woodcraft, handmade paper and food processing.
Tourism in Aurora province is highly recommended to both foreign and local tourist who seeks a relaxing vacation, fun, excitement and adventure. Blessed with an abundance of appealing natural attractions such as waterfalls, relaxing greenery on mountainsides, and panoramic tropical beaches. Comfortable hotels and accommodations are widely available offering delicious Filipino foods and the friendliest hospitable service, a distinct trademark of Paradise Philippines.
Aurora, simply a beautiful paradise on earth.

Abra province is located between mountain ranges and Ilocos ranges and extremely strong and rigid countryside, it has a number of rivers that start in the mountains and run through Abra province. Abra is rich in natural and historic sites. You shouldn’t miss the historic legacy left by Spaniards in most small municipalities such as old Catholic Churches.
With an area of 3,975 sq km or 1.3% of the whole land area of the Philippines, the province of Abra nestles on the western side the Cordillera in Luzon. Its deep valley, wide plains and sloping hills are shut off by rugged mountains, exept on the western portion where the Abra river flows towards to coastal plains of Ilocos Sur. Its provincial boundaries are defined by Ilocos Norte and Kalinga-Apayao on the north. Mountain Province and Ilocos Sur on the south and Kalinga-Apayao on the east.
GEOGRAPHICAL BACKGROUND
The Philippines is truly a paradise. Indeed, a Paradise Philippines. There are so many exciting unique things to do and see that is incomparable to what the rest of the world can offer. My Dutch friend would always tell me that, “In the Philippines, there are so many surprises!”.
